Social media relationships build more slowly when posts are short and pithy

common sense insight tells us, distracted driving, of any sort, is ridiculously unsafe

Social media relationships build more slowly when posts are short and pithy. It’s challenging to make what works in person, work online:

The most important time to bond with a new baby is the first few months. The best time to bond with a new employee is the first few months. Funny how a little common sense can make a big difference. – Lee Cockerell

Common sense Insight: The really important things in life are ridiculous obvious.

Where the heck did jeff noel’s promise of short, pithy posts disappear to?

I would not be prevaricating if I said recent posts have been too long

Where the heck did jeff noel’s promise of short, pithy posts disappear to?

To the laboratory. Experimentation. This one’s short, but not pithy.

Pithy would be if I asked when was the last time you made and delivered on a daily promise for four straight years.

Blind-sided by the nicest thing that could ever happen?

Blind-sided by the nicest thing that could ever happen?

No, wasn’t told there is now a cure for Crohn’s Disease. Nor that world hunger and injustice have been eradicated. Wasn’t promised world peace will be here by the weekend.

Something else happened yesterday. Something nice. Really nice. At work.

Will probably share the news in 100 days or so, I felt compelled to share this video (embedded in this morning’s Seth Godin email). What we can all derive great pleasure from is the fact that excitement and hope for the future is alive and well.

And as Walt Disney has taught me, “Keep moving forward”.

This is today’s rare second post.

PS. Sooner or later, it becomes crystal clear. Life is not a dress rehearsal. Live like you mean it! Yesterday we said, “Tomorrow”.

Nuwanda Chronicles
follow where the path leads… or not (and remember, life is not a dress rehearsal)

Nuwanda, remember him? Or is he a she? Doesn’t matter. Nuwanda is a character here at jungle jeff. Nuwanda once received an astonishingly excellent annual work review:

No one works harder, thinks deeper, cares more, or reaches higher than Nuwanda. In a cookie-cutter world, Nuwanda is a craftsman.

This quote arrived minutes ago and supports the notion small acts – which seem insignificant to us as we do them – are truly the only way to build your life’s cathedral.

Put your heart, mind, intellect, and soul even to your smallest acts. This is the secret of success. – Swami Sivananda Saraswati

I know you are busy. That is likely to never change.

Two key reasons our professional life should be completely imbalanced

work life balance
wow, that’s a lot of metaphorical fear and confusion

work life balance
what a contrast, how does she do it?

Two key reasons our professional life should be completely imbalanced:

  1. the time we spend protecting ourselves from fear and confusion is high
  2. the time we spend being creative, insanely productive, and leading is low

It should be imbalanced, opposite of above.

The two photos are houses across the street from one another, taken during a run while on biz trip.
