Does what other people think stop me from doing work that matters?

Lots of great wisdom coming from you this weekend

Clark, your last email inspired this reply which turned into a riff. Consider this part of your daily personal development…and know i’m letting this rip without a pause to come back later and re-read/edit before sending…
Early this week reached an impossible milestone… the 5,000th consecutive day writing 5 daily, differently-themed blog posts.
World record for most blog posts by a single author is 17,212.
i’m well over 25,000
Imagine the personal development from writing two hours every day, without ever missing a day, for nearly 14 years (and counting). Then add in Walt’s DNA from 30 years at Disney, including 15 years teaching Walt’s DNA to over one-million outsiders (and 2,000 organizations) thru Disney Institute.
Then after 3 decades, ‘this guy’ leaves the comfort, security, and prestige of Disney to take a HUGE risk in a crowded sea of “Motivational Speakers”.
Then, imagine this same person, free from corporate dogma/tradition/expectations, to do and say things the way he wants — a way he thinks/knows is better than Disney.
Crazy.
Bold.
Perfect.
You know why you don’t know these things/stats? Because no one cares. i do the reps even though no one is looking and no one will ever look — except Chapin and Cheryl.
Ps. Not gonna mention a TEDx Talk (my 1st speech in 2,000 that was without slides, AND, recorded for TED, a 100-episode podcast (If Disney Ran Your Life), and a midlife-crisis-paradigm shifting book Mid Life Celebration. Not gonna mention at age 50 representing Team USA in the 400m (M50-54) at the 2009 Track & Field ’Senior Olympics’. Nor that i’m training for a future return. Nor will i mention the countless Guest compliments from helping Business Leaders .think .differently about their Organizational Vibrancy.
Pss. Won’t mention the two Disney Lifetime Achievement Awards either. Habits are what people think and do without thinking. To receive a lifetime award (let alone two) for living and breathing the Disney Way seems weird. Unnecessary even.
Clark, serving you, in literal anonymity, is a privilege and a joy.
Perhaps you’ll carry the torch for why Nursing is important and what your organization’s role is in that answer.
