Daisy flowers in Philadelphia
This was a sign, believe it or not.

Our only plan yesterday was to not rush, have fun, and learn a little history about our home state.

Everything sends a message about what you value

Healthcare provider mission statement
Wow, can’t help but wonder how many patients care about the first sentence.

Tattered sign in medical office
Everything speaks. What does a front and center sign (first thing you see) say to a new patient?

Everything sends a message to customers:

  • People (employees)
  • Processes (policies, procedures, tasks)
  • Place (physical, virtual, phone, forms, etc)

During tomorrow’s arrival for our Son’s colonoscopy, betting i’ll see more.

PS. During yesterday’s dry run drive and office visit, i snapped the two photos. When i left i couldn’t get the (only) patient exit door open. The receptionist said, “You have to push really hard.”

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

Seven obvious warning signs of a crumbling culture

Apple Watch health app
Two days ago…a 25 mile roundtrip bike ride to use the gym.

Seven obvious warning signs of a crumbling culture:

  1. High turnover/low moral
  2. Lack of consistency
  3. Woe-is-us mentality
  4. Short term thinking
  5. Silos
  6. Survival mode
  7. Cynicism

These seven lead to the river of leadership mistrust.

If Disney ran your business they’d attack this – to protect your culture at any cost.

Most organizations, and you know this for a fact, have no clue where to begin.

Get A Real MBA

GetaRealMBA.com
GetaRealMBA.com

GetARealMBA.com This is a legitimate website.  Seriously.

Just 24 hours ago, I was walking through the Portland, Oregon International Airport and the wall ad caught my attention.

Timely ad? Indeed.  Have been a bit self-conscious in trying to share this journey to get a “real” MBA.

It involves a special project for each individual student.  The goal is simple.  Start a business that doesn’t go out of business.

The IRS gives you three years, essentially, before they ask if your project is a hobby or a business.

Who wouldn’t want to go to school and three years later be able to say, “It ain’t a hobby”?
