Self confidence should never be considered bling

 

Our search for self confidence is really half-hearted at best.

If we really were compelled to be strongly confident, we’d keep moving forward the way a child is determined to learn how to walk.

But we are not hell-bent on walking as adults.

And so we give up the efforts, but not the wishing.

Wishing doesn’t accomplish anything.

We know this.

Way too many of us struggle with self confidence. Why?

We shouldn’t be struggling.

Take a 53 year old Baby Boomer for example. That’s like being an 18-year old with 35 years of experience.

Our self-image, in many cases, is tied to our title at work.

Our title at work is tied to our reputation.

Our reputation is tied to our habits.

Our habits are tied to our insecurities.

Our insecurities are tied to our self-image.

Now that we’ve come full-circle, so what?

So, balance doesn’t do much for your reputation, unless you have people you love, who are more important than your career.

But that doesn’t do much for your reputation.
