Over-focus on the same things others, who do what you do, under-focus on.
Strive to have fun becoming a category of one.
Lessor versions (goals) include:
Being good enough for government work.
Being above average to make better money.
Being excellent to compete for promotions.
Becoming the best in class (category) for any number of reasons.
But at the end of the day, being the best in your category relegates you to taking your place behind the lead dog, the one who creates a new, and better category.

Not drunk.
But high on interacting at every opportunity to engage with our Guests.
Obsessive extravertedness.
You can’t walk anywhere and not be intentionality looking for opportunities to engage with Guests and make them feel special and deliver on one of the four key guest drivers.
Note: Wrote this two days ago at Epcot, while having a late lunch at Teppan Edo (in Japan).

Obsessed with our Customer.
Obsessed with your student?
Obsessed with our reason that we exist.
Obsessed with your reason that you exist?
While at the Teppen Edo Men’s room urinal…a flash of genius.
Then i converse with Terumi, from Seattle…two years at WDW…son 8 years in WDW engineering analytics. And lost the genius soundbite.
A genius soundbite i had never thought of before.
Was in the process of adding a note on my iPhone when i saw Terumi….and saw a moment to interact with her. ‘Guest’ interaction trumped what i wanted to do. Onstage it always should (unless Safety is the present priority).
So getting lost in wonderful conversation with Terumi, the genius soundbite floated away.
In case it ain’t obvious, Leader’s Guests are fellow Cast Members. That’s where my headspace (and heartspace) was.
