Most organizational cultures are a mess

Disney Keynote Speaker
The evil step sister’s faces are not white, on purpose. When the glass slipper fit Cinderella, they both had an emotional reaction.

Most organizational cultures are a mess.

Why?

Because there’s no set of blueprints.

No foundation that’s set in stone.

This lack of foundation perpetuates an endless list of plans that are not tied to the big picture – the vision.

The best analogy i can share is comparing adult intentionality when it comes to personal wellness.

Can you make the comparison?

Are you fascinated by the way people…

Inspiring vision for waste management
Our job as an employee is to continuously make what we do better than it used to be done. See the question in the white box?

Are you fascinated by the way people can easily see the faults of others yet appear to be blind to their own?

At some point in life, we should mature to a place where anything other than striving for excellence, continuously improving, and teaching others is a missed opportunity.

Agree or disagree?

Why?

Are you clear on your career goals and expectations?

Your career is your contribution to society.

Your contribution is directly tied to your spirit.

Your spirit is tied to your attitude.

And so on and so forth.

Evil step-sisters: one face is red with rage and the other green with envy. Why? Because the slipper fit.

How important is enjoying your work?

At Disney, we teach brand new Cast Members – on day one – the principle of “finding your own applause”.

There will be many things about the various jobs you’ll have throughout life that will be unpleasant and perhaps even downright annoying.

Find the get-to-do parts of your job and accentuate those.

That’s where your joy will come from.

Nurture it.

Grow it.

Harvest it.
