Excellence mindset is an invisible 401k plan.

Our standards are habitual.

  • Good enough for government work
  • Very good is better than good
  • Good and very good aren’t good enough

We reap what we sow.

Excellence is the only seed bag i own.

Post Op Day 1, work

Bloodshot eye after eye surgery
At home, two hours after bandage removal. “Documenting” the recorvery.

Excellence is a mindset.

Good and and very good aren’t good enough. The words we use tell us, and everyone, how high we set our bar.

Eye surgery update, work

Interacting with others is different with vision in just one eye.

If i don’t tell anyone, they’ll never know.

Makes me wonder what others i interact with might be going through or dealing with.

It’s not like i’m (or others are) trying to keep a secret.

It’s just life.

Perfectly imperfect.

Last night before bed.

Adversity doesn’t develop character, it reveals it.

My personal vibrancy’s strength is proportional to my habit’s strength.

The higher the stakes, the harder it is to survive unexpected blows. This is true for everyone.

Classic example of “build your house out of rock on a rock foundation”. Recall the parable “The Three Little Pigs”.

And so it goes, at work

22-second video: Didn’t intend to arrive near nightfall, however an airline delay created this late-day moment.
10-second video: Surreal to be in this present moment.

The future is calling and i must go.

The reality of the eye challenge is that the cause is simply from aging.

Like human hair turning grey, aging eventually sees to it that everyone’s hair turns grey.

This is a new phase of life for me.

A beginner, so to speak.

A rookie.

Uncharted territory.

The future is calling and i must go. (hat tip to John Muir for his, “The mountains are calling and I must go.”

Ps. Hey jeff, happy hiking.
