We’re too busy to ask questions, let alone answer them

The stress of time constraints, deadlines, and P&L’s lures us to take shortcuts. Our passion for the purpose is no longer our guiding force. Instead, the clock and the paycheck are our masters.

The growth of those we are leading is the last thing on our mind.

Is profit the goal? Is profit the reward?

We’re too busy to even ask these questions, let alone answer them profoundly.

His enthusiasm was contagious

enthusiasm is slightly more contagious than the lack of enthusiasm

His enthusiasm was contagious as he spoke to the group on a tour at Disney’s Magic Kingdom Theme Park yesterday morning. He knew it to be true by the looks on the audiences’ faces. And by one brave individual’s private question.

The question was a test of his authenticity. The speaker passed with flying colors.

Sometimes, do you want to fall to your knees with deep and grateful humility?

Sometimes, do we want to fall to our knees with deep and grateful humility?

So challenging to get done all we need to get done.

We push through the pain anyway.

We are driven.

Time is the challenge, not desire.

I’m pushing 9:00pm and still have another blog to write.

Like now, realizing how easy some people must make it look to write and post five daily blogs.

It’s anything but.

On my virtual knees… praying for strength to finish.

The one unknown obligation of leadership no one has called out

gratitude
sure the bench is cold, but only a civilized society has benches like this (be thankful you live there)

The unknown obligation of leadership… Gratitude.

The most assured way to feel gratitude is to know it could be worse. The other way is to feel AMAZINGLY blessed with the basics: sight, sound, taste, touch, smell, to laugh, read, talk, to love and be loved.

And back to leadership… to have the privilege to lead.

And to have it be your livelihood, wow, how special is that?
