i remember how you tried to convince me, the closer i got to retirement, to not do it.

i almost believed you.

Doubt is really self-bullying in disguise.

It’s unacceptable to do it to others, why would you tolerate it on yourself.

Disney Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It parade — The Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It (MiSiCi) parade created a 30-minute wait on the bus – which was perfect for writing.

Disney leadership author & speaker — Haven’t been on the double-decker bus in many years…because it hasn’t run in many years.

Dear inspiration,

Last night as i entered Town Square for the sixth consecutive day – writing my first Disney business book – you surprised me with the main Street Double-Decker bus.

Wow.

What fun.

Not what i was expecting.

It was better.

Better is what inspiration lives for, in my opinion.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

Thank you for, overall, making me a funny guy at Disney.

The only way i and my Disney colleagues knew how to survive the pressure to deliver daily excellence (without exception) was to have fun on the job.

We got really good at being crazy.

It’s funny how our Guests didn’t see the bulk of it.

Many will say you require writers to also be researchers. Thank you for qualifying “research” to also mean real life experience.

Having spoken to over one-million people and roughly 2,000 different organizations, my “research” is world-class.

Few, if any, speakers have done this level of quantitative and qualitative research.

Dear writing, thank you for being flexible, creative, and smart.

Dear Risk,

Thank you for the glory days when i wasn’t afraid of anything. Thank you for quickly teaching me there are certain things i should be glad i’m afraid of, like going through the motions in life.

But now that i’m 57, the glory days could appear to be behind me, or at least for the “typical 57 year old”.

But they’re not behind me, they’re ahead of me.

i’m still afraid. But now i’m afraid of squandering time.

So i don’t.

It’s too risky.
