It’s one of the most effective ways to keep people from getting in contact with you.

Do you have your own business? Are you in charge of a business? Will you be doing either one of these in the future?

Want a quick measure of your effectiveness?

Google your name or your business’s name.

Happy?

Lonely?

PS. If 3rd graders can’t find you, you’re in trouble.

Usually, reserved parking spaces are for those individuals who’ve contributed something really important.

In a world full of alpha-dogs, what does it take to earn a reserved parking space?

And, perhaps more importantly, what will it take to keep it?

Met with a social media director of a large company recently yesterday.

He’s pushing 30.

I’m enjoying my 50’s.

He has a personal blog, and writes in it occasionally.

I write five daily blogs. Everyday.

He was curious what inspired me.

I mean, seriously, who writes five different ones, everyday?

Nobody.

So I told him.

He gets it now.

Heard this phrase last week for the first time.

Apparently, it’s a common term.

BuzzMetrics.

It’s mostly self explanatory.

Are you creating a buzz?

What is buzz-worthy is today’s economic environment?

And finally, is it worth the effort, because the reality is, everybody wants to be buzz-worthy?

Oh, did I mention that Saturday marked my 2,000th blog post?

World-Class Readers

Most of you know I love social media and actively (meaning daily) use the big guns – LinkedIn, Twitter, You Tube, Blogs, Facebook, etc.

LinkedIn has many uses besides posting a plain vanilla resume.  It can be used as a micro-blog platform too.

Well, yesterday I received a LinkedIn reply from someone who’s parents instilled in them, as young children, to read a book a week.

Reading a book a month separates casual readers from serious readers.

Reading a book a week separates the serious readers from the world-class readers.

World-class, of course, is in a class by itself.

I know this from personal experience, but not in the category labeled reading.
