On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.
The similarities are different
Two hikes an hour apart. One shaded, short and flat with no visible wildlife. The other trail steep and longer, in the hot sun. The 3,000-foot altitude gain allowed the (hot) sun to feel complementary instead of adversarial. Rewarded with a hairy marmot and two mountain goats on our return descent to Logan Pass visitor’s center.

Getting so close to a breakthrough i can taste it.
Ups and downs.
Highs and lows.
Certainty, then uncertainty.
Lucky breaks, then setbacks, and vice versa.
It’s that notion that few get to see with their own eyes. The notion of getting up one more time after you’ve fallen.
It’s hard to be beat someone who refuses to quit.
PS. The focus is my growing business, but in reality, this is also a metaphor for America picking itself back up after yesterday.

It’s who you know
It’s who you know.
So i called Kim. She’s a Sales manager at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress, about six miles from our driveway.
She’ll run the proposal past her GM and Director.
Our boys attended elementary school together. We attended the same school plays. We run the same 5k’s. i trust Kim and she trusts me.
So yeah, it’s who you know.
