Why do you love the wild places?

From an early age, nature and all of Pennsylvania’s wild things, bugs, flowers, birds, creek critters, fish – all of it mesmerized me.

Leadership lesson number one in the wild…

Survival of the fittest.

Civilization has evolved to help us scale protecting our loved ones from literally infinite, wild, threats.

i am remarkably grateful for this.

i do not romanticize living off the land and all that old-timey stuff.

Nevertheless, the wild still exists. It’s smaller, as civilization keeps asking for more space.

Yes.

Writing is not hereditary.

Yet i write like my life depends on it.

Perhaps, maybe it does.

Music is not hereditary.

But my Dad and his sister, both accomplished, professional musicians.

Me and my sister, nothing.

Lifestyle and hereditary genes influence everyone.

Always have, always will.

Happy June 1, 2026.

While the Summer Solstice is three weeks away (June 21, 4:54am), Since childhood, i’ve always celebrated Summer’s arrival on June 1st.

Why?

Growing up in rural Pennsylvania, school was always one week away from being over, usually June 6, 7, or 8th.

There was no real schoolwork that last week.

The arrival of Summer always had ‘June’ written all over it.

Time poor, work

sanibel island florida — Sanibel Island, Florida…all time favorite beach vacations. Worked many ‘vacation’ days here, for many years. It is what it is.

Disney Top Corporate Trainers — Retired the first time (from Disney) on Halloween, 2014. Retired a second time (from Mid Life Celebration, LLC) on New Year’s Day, 2026.

Am i time poor? And, does it even matter?

Time poor is when you are so busy, you cannot afford to waste any time.

You are living without any discretionary time.

No extra time to do something that isn’t required.

But guess what?

Work is no longer required.

The new goal is to ween myself off the need to contribute excellent work (for a paycheck).

With pay comes accountability and responsibility. Since pay is no longer required in our life, i’m anxious to see and feel the lightness of not having pay, nor the responsibility and accountability.

Not only will there be time regained from not working, but also mental energy and emotional energy regained.

.thinking .differently has a new vision.
